About Wendy O'Brien
Born in western New Jersey near the TB farms, moved to Pinellas County in 1976 and raised in rural Pinellas County spending most of my time at the horse stables with my beloved POA pony, Indian Girl. We won at barrel racing, then tried our hand at showing Halter, English Pleasure, etc. Also rode my Mom's QH, Sonny Boy, in Western Pleasure and my brother's TB Lucky Lady in speed classes! After years away from horses, I moved to Brooksville in 1996 with my two sons, Jonathan and Robert, and pregnant with my daughter, Angelina. We moved to a ten acre farm in the Spring Lake area that we fell in love with at first sight. My dream had always been to be a horse trainer so while we continued to run our convenience store in St Petersburg, "Wendy's Deli & Market" I studied with a John Lyon's trainer out of Ocala, who taught me many valuable lessons. I took this back to my farm, Spring Lake Stables, and trained many horses (I wasn't counting), began putting on clinics, Grande Equine Clinics, with my partner, an awesome bay Arabian gelding, Santastic, to help others with their horse skills. (I still have Santastic by the way, he is now 29 years old!) Realizing that Lyon's doesn't have all the answers, my interests then ventured to Pat Parelli's methods.... I held clinics with a Parelli trainer that were well attended. SO MUCH FUN! I met a ton of great people! After selling the St Pete convenience store we decided to open one in Brooksville, known as "Uncle Joe's Deli & Market" we quickly became a favorite for our cuban sandwiches and Boar's Head subs being the best around. While at this store, I decided to obtain my real estate license. This was in 2003 and the real estate market was heating up....I started at a small satellite office in downtown Brooksville and did quite well, with my direct communication and reputation for integrity spilling over from my other businesses in the area. After 3 years there, I decided to go out on my own but wanted some strength behind me so I chose a RE/MAX franchise. After 6 successful years as a broker of my own RE/MAX Spirit office, I decided to give up the headaches of ownership and return to the sales and service that I love the most about real estate - My Customers! The change was a much needed break but I am now back full force and permanently as a Broker/Owner again of my own company, Spirit Realty of Florida! Life is constant twists and turns -- isn't it? I am proud to be a Real Estate Broker that has helped uncounted folks sell their home and/or find their dream home. It is all about what is best for the person I am working for -- NOT me. I also work with some great banks and sell REOs for them -- that has enabled me to further deal with distressed homeowners/ or former homeowners to assist in their transition in their lives. I am also a past DC of our local chapter of the United States Pony Club, where my daughter competed on her OTTB Adrian in eventing and hunter competitions. What a great organization Pony Club is! Ask me about it if you have a horse crazy kid. :-)So, I guess I am mostly a southern girl with the ya'lls and such with a Jersey slant -- so don't mess with me..... I have tattoos ride a motorcycle, and drive a truck, and I have too many animals. I also own Spirit Ranch, an aspiring natural wellness company for humans and animals where I offer Essential Oil blends, natural products and energy healing for animals. I have raised two beautiful boys that are both very successful Masters program graduates of USF College of Engineering and have excellent opportunities in front of them. And my daughter, my soul sister, I am excited about her future and watching to see what she chooses to do with her life... she is experiencing life as a recent high school graduate right now and has so many opportunities. She is as much a beautiful soul as anyone I have ever met. I love watching her have new experiences and taste each one and choose which she prefers and which she leaves on the table.... life is awesome! All three of my children have beautiful souls – I hope that I had a part in developing that kindness and love that they emanate. Well, that's me..... If you are still reading this, then you are probably my kind of customer -- call, text or email me and I will do my best to assist you. Thanks so much!
